The River Boat Drift Adventure

A Tentative Guide of the River Boat Drift Adventure

This is a Soft Adventure of exploration, site seeing, and observation of the river's wildlife and Riparian Jungle. An experience for the whole family, where you can enjoy nature and wildlife spotting together, at your pace and at a safe distance.

Our starting and ending point is the river banks in front of your Jungle Cabin at Howler Monkey Resort where we descend a flight of stairs to board the 26 foot Catamaran (MV Croc'in). We slowly make our way up the meandering Belize river, moving away from civilization to an area where there are no roads nor jungle trails that access the ecosystem of the monkey's jungle; where, howler monkeys, crocodiles, birds, turtles, and other wildlife live in perfect harmony. The Belize River is a natural conduit allowing us to explore the monkey's jungle in a most unobtrusive way, leaving only small ripples; while, still getting to see and appreciate quite a bit of the wildlife around.

After our short adventure, hopefully, we return a little bit more inspired and filled with appreciation for how truly beautiful nature really is and the need to preserve it.

• 🌸 After Breakfast usually around 8 a.m. if not after lunch around 2 p.m. We Meet down by the river's edge at Howler Monkey Resort
• 🌸 board our stable 26 foot catamaran
• 🌸 We very slowly start motoring upstream.
• 🌸 We start traveling up stream looking for all the different flora and any wildlife coming down for a drink of water and of course we keep an eye out for the elusive Morelet's Crocodile on the river banks sunbathing
• 🌸 We make frequent pauses to allow us time to see all our sightings at a safe distance from the wildlife
• 🌸 after a couple of hours or so we cut the engine and drift for a bit so as to enjoy the sounds of nature
• 🌸 We should be back at the lodge after 2 and a half to three hours of peaceful exploration

 

What to bring for the River Boat Drift Adventure:

• 🌼 Binoculars is a must
• 🌼 Hat or Cap
• 🌼 Bug Spray only for the entrance and exit points
• 🌼 Long sleeve shirts and Long pants
• 🌼 hiking shoes
• 🌼 Reef Safe Sun Screen
• 🌼 drinking Water
• 🌼 big serving of your adventurous spirit
